Graduate Financial Aid. Graduate assistantships may be awarded to matriculated doctoral students who are in good academic standing (e.g., GPA of 3.0 or higher). There is no credit minima required to hold an assistantship. International students must hold an F1 visa in order to be eligible to be employed as a graduate assistant.

You do not need to complete the undergraduate admissions essay that is on the UMass Boston application. In addition, we do not use a form for the letters of recommendation. UMass Boston's MBA (Master's of Business Administration) is an immersive management program at a Tier One business school. Our MBA maintains strict AACSB accreditation. Our curriculum is a streamlined 12 courses with no prerequisites, designed to develop the skills you need to make complex, real-world business decisions.

Students are automatically considered for UMass Boston's merit scholarship aid based on their admissions application. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will notify recipients at the time of acceptance if they have been selected for one of these scholarships.

All Graduate Applicants: UMass Lowell Graduate Admissions offers rolling admissions for all programs except those noted below. Choose from more than 100 graduate programs, from traditional master's and doctoral to certificate and non-thesis professional science master's programs.

Only Master’s prepared nurses with preparation as clinical nurse specialist in their MS program can be considered for acceptance into the 12-credit option. A personal telephone interview may be required. The UMass Boston Graduate Admissions Director will inform applicants of their admission to the program.

Students enroll in courses offered by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, collaborating departments at UMass Boston, and other UMass campuses with approval from the Program Director. After completing core courses, students must complete a comprehensive qualifying exam. Successful performance in the comprehensive exam is a prerequisite.
